2.1. Packaging Specifications for Roll Format Kraft Paper (Jumbo & Small Rolls)

For Kraft paper in rolls, the ultimate goal is to shield the two edge headers and the internal paper core.

• Primary Wrap (First Protective Layer): Once leaving the slitting machine, the paper roll is tightly wrapped with 3 to 5 layers of PE stretch film. This layer must cling closely to the entire surface and round over both headers to isolate the roll completely from external humidity.

• Header Protection (Disc Headers): Circular pieces of heavy chipboard or plywood (called header discs) with a diameter matching the paper roll are placed firmly against both ends. This detail prevents edges from tearing or crushing when the roll is placed vertically or moved.

• Strapping: High-strength PP plastic or steel straps are tensioned vertically and horizontally around the roll, ensuring that the protective layers remain tightly fixed.

• Core Protection (Core Plugs): Heavy-duty plastic or wooden core plugs are ed into both ends of the paper tube core to keep the core perfectly round under immense compressing weight.

• Warehouse Environment Control: Kraft paper storage facilities must be dry, cool, well-roofed, shielded from direct sunlight, and maintain a minimum distance of 50cm from walls. Never place paper pallets directly onto concrete or dirt floors to eliminate the risk of groundwater moisture seeping upward.
